Dr. Esther Yi, PSY.D
Center Founder & Director
Dr. Esther Yi, the founder of New Heights Learning Center, is a licensed Psychologist (PSY32726), wife, and mother of two boys. She is the Chief of Staff at APPRO Inc. & serves on the board with Genesis Recovery. Dr. Yi was the previous Clinical Director with Rhombus Counseling. She established the NHLC after discovering the limited options for alternative education that provide homeschooling flexibility, consistent playtime to build lasting relationships, and a high regard for academic achievement.
NHLC offers a unique approach to education that prioritizes the brain development of the child, with a focus on lifelong skills and a love of learning. Yehna Kim
Lead Teacher
Yehna Kim is a dedicated educator with a robust background in elementary and special education. She earned her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Special Education from Wheaton College (IL). With three years of experience in the field, Ms. Kim has made significant contributions as a special education teacher in both private and public school settings. Her primary focus has been on elementary education, particularly with students ranging from first to third grade, as well as high school special needs students. Ms. Kim is also currently pursuing her Masters degree in counseling!
Throughout her career, Ms. Kim has been committed to creating inclusive and supportive learning environments where every student can thrive. She believes in fostering a classroom atmosphere
that promotes joy, growth, and individualized learning. Ms. Kim is passionate about helping children develop not only academically, but also socially and emotionally, empowering them to
reach their full potential. Her approach emphasizes personalized instruction tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, ensuring that all learners have the opportunity to succeed.
